KUDAT: The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government has maintained that it has never sidelined any state agency officers or chief executive officers appointed under the previous Warisan administration.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, during a gathering here on Friday, said that when he first assumed office almost five years ago, he encouraged those in service to continue contributing under the new leadership.

He contrasted this with the approach of the Warisan administration, which he said had made sweeping changes during its two years in power.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that the current water supply challenges in Sabah stemmed from the termination of eight concession companies under the previous government, which later led to costly legal disputes.

Despite these setbacks, Hajiji stressed that the GRS administration has moved forward by investing in major upgrades, including RM300 million for treatment plants across the state and RM380 million for the expansion of the Kogopon plant in Papar.

He further noted that similar disruptions had affected the Pan Borneo Highway project, which suffered delays of more than four years after consultancy arrangements were halted during Warisan’s tenure.

Looking ahead, Hajiji urged the people of Sabah to view the upcoming 17th state election as an opportunity to strengthen the GRS–Pakatan Harapan partnership, which he said is focused on raising living standards and supporting economic growth.
