GRS leaders advised to stay above differences

All leaders of component parties of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) are urged to continue promoting harmony and avoid divisions that could undermine the strength of the party in the face of the upcoming State Election.

The Deputy President of Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star), Datuk Robert Tawik said that although sometimes there were difference of opinions among GRS leaders, it is not a ticket to spark a dispute that will ultimately destroy the strength of the party until some go their own way due to dissatisfaction or disappointed.

It is true that in politics, there are differences of opinion among leaders and party members in GRS.

“However, as mature political leaders, there must be an understanding to compromise so that our party remains strong to face the upcoming state election which is quite challenging,” he said.

Read more Robert, who is also the Assistant Minister of Works, explained that the leaders and members of the GRS component parties should not brag about any programme implemented and be proud of the direction of support received.

He said, there are some leaders and members of the party who are proud when the programme implemented in the area receives encouraging response that they do not invite other leaders and members who are equally fighting for GRS.

“Don’t be like that, GRS is a coalition that we both need to strengthen in the spirit of cooperation to face the opossotion in the next State Election. Practice the slogan ‘United we are strong, divided we fall’, “he said.

Robert who is also a Bingkor Assemblyman, also reiterated his loyalty to the leadership of the Chief Minister, who is also GRS Chairman, including the entire leadership of the party’s components.

Robert is confident that GRS would be the main choice of the people of Sabah in the next State election.
