TAMBUNAN: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) have finalised their seat allocations for the 17th state election.
GRS chief Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, however, said the distribution of seats between the two coalitions will only be revealed on nomination day.
“Yes, we already know, but I cannot announce it now. Just wait until nomination day and you will know the numbers,” said the interim chief minister when asked if GRS and PH had reached a decision on the seat distribution for the upcoming state election.
Hajiji also said that GRS will unveil its manifesto after nomination day.
“We will offer the best to the people of Sabah,” he added after visiting Pekan Tambunan today.
It was reported that the Election Commission will hold a meeting on Oct 16 to discuss and decide on the key dates for the state election.
On a related matter, Hajiji expressed confidence that the mandate would return to the GRS-PH coalition, citing its five-year track record.
“We have achieved much through various socio-economic programmes for the people.
“We have brought high-impact investments to spur Sabah’s economic development.
“We have spent more than RM1.3 billion on human capital development initiatives and provided monthly assistance of RM300 to the hardcore poor on the e-Kasih list.
“We have also scored successes in the oil and gas industry. The opposition tried to downplay these successes, but I believe the people are mature and will appreciate our achievements,” he said.
Hajiji added that this state election would be livelier, with many political parties already announcing their intention to contest.
“Let us celebrate democracy,” he said.
