SANDAKAN: Seat distribution between Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) is still under discussion and has yet to be finalised, said Gagasan Rakyat Vice President Datuk Masiung Banah.

He noted that some GRS component parties have not submitted their proposed list of candidates.

"The matter will be detailed in the upcoming GRS-PH Presidential Council meeting," he said after officiating the Gagasan Rakyat Gum-Gum Division Annual General Meeting.

"Seat allocation is still being negotiated. However, GRS under the Gagasan Rakyat banner should contest at least 53 seats, while PH will likely contest the remaining 20," he stated.

He urged party grassroots to respect the decisions of the Presidential Council, as it serves as the decision-making body within GRS.

Masiung also observed that current voter sentiment favours local parties but stressed that cooperation with PH remains vital due to its alignment with the Prime Minister.

Over 1,500 delegates and observers attended the meeting led by division chief Datuk Juslie Ajirol and deputy Datuk Jaffari Waliam.
