Kota Kinabalu: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Wanita Chief, Datuk Seri Azizah Mohd Dun, said GRS women who want to be candidates for the coming State Election must be individuals with potential, credibility and the ability to win.
“We want qualified candidates who have the potential to win and are brave, spirited and confident.
“We are not against young candidates, we welcome them, but if possible, we want those with experience because this is important for a candidate who becomes a people’s representative to have knowledge and credibility, as to be in the assembly or parliament, we need someone who truly has authority.
“We do not want our candidates to be like ‘coughing on the stairs’...’just entering the race because they are told to, just contesting’... and as much as possible, we want those who can bring the people’s voice,” she said after attending the GRS’ Wanita Chiefs Component Meeting, here, last Saturday.
