As the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end”, such was the case for Golden Screen Cinema’s (GSC) Alamanda Putrajaya branch, which is set to shut its doors for good this month.

GSC Alamanda Putrajaya to close on Aug 14

In an announcement issued by the cinema chain on Facebook today, GSC revealed that its Alamanda Putrajaya branch will cease operations on August 14 and its final screening will be held on August 13.

The cinema was first opened on April 5, 2008, and has served hundreds of thousands of moviegoers for the past 15 years.

In January of this year, the fan screening of the Demon Slayer movie Mugen Train was held, where it attracted hundreds of fans who cosplayed various characters from the wildly popular anime series.

15 years since we first opened our doors on Apr 5, 2008, we been honoured to share countless unforgettable cinematic moments with you. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support and patronage over the years.

“Though this chapter may be closing, the reel continues to spin. We warmly invite you to enjoy the magic of the movies at our nearest cinema, GSC IOI Mall 1 & 2, where the same dedication to excellence awaits you,” the statement read.
