guardian Malaysia’s week-long event offers free dental check-ups, expert advice and members-only promotions.

PETALING JAYA: In conjunction with World Oral Health Day, guardian Malaysia is hosting a week-long awareness event at 1 Utama Shopping Centre and Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru from March 31 to  April 5.

“Many people are unaware of the links between oral health and systemic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

Individuals who take oral care for granted and neglect it may have to pay a fairly high price in the future,” said Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei guardian Marketing Director Anna Ng.

Speaking at the launch, guardian Malaysia Managing Director Priscilla Wu said the health and beauty products provider’s role as a trusted wellness advisor to all Malaysians now includes empowering them to adopt preventive oral healthcare as a primary defence against dental issues.

“This week-long event, held in celebration of World Oral Health Day and supported by the Malaysian Dental Association (MDA) and Haleon, is the first step in this direction and is in line with the objectives of the Health Ministry (MOH),” she said.

MDA President Dr Chong Zhen Feng said his association is focused on working constructively with industry stakeholders to better serve the public interest.

“We are delighted to be part of this public outreach platform. guardian Malaysia is celebrating World Oral Health Day with various talks, free dental check-ups and the presence of oral care experts, allowing shoppers to improve their daily hygiene and routines,” he said.

Visitors to the event can undergo dental check-ups and receive professional consultations in enclosed, private booths at the atrium from 12pm to 6pm, between April 3 and April 5.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of engaging activities and interactive zones at the Guardian World Oral Health Day atrium event at 1 Utama Shopping Centre.

Throughout the week, the event will feature stage activities covering various topics of interest, hosted by brands including BioMed, Colgate, Darlie, Henry Blooms and Sensodyne, at selected hours in the afternoons.

Attendees are encouraged to explore interactive zones such as ‘Build Your Strong Smile’, ‘Protect Your Mouth’ and ‘Shine with Confidence’, where they can learn about effective oral hygiene and how to halt the progression of diseases through daily preventive habits.
