A 1-minute 50-second CCTV video showing what appears to be an armed robbery at a convenience store in Taman Wahyu, Kepong, has surfaced online.

The footage, recorded by a ceiling-mounted CCTV camera at around 5.47am today (July 28), shows a man threatening a cashier with what appears to be a pistol.

In the video, the suspect is seen aggressively ordering the cashier to open the cash register.

When the employee was slow to comply, the situation quickly turned violent, with the suspect allegedly assaulting the worker. The suspect then used his left hand to grab money from the cash register, stuffed it into a bag and fled the store.

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng shared the CCTV footage on social media and said it was understood that the motorcycle allegedly used in the incident was registered under the name of an individual believed to be a military member.

However, it is unclear whether the registered owner was involved in the robbery.
