Gunshots were allegedly fired outside the residence of a businessman in Mohali. The police have registered a case.

Yogesh Kumar, a resident of Sector 115, Khooni Majra, complained to the police that he had earlier received death threat when he pressed his company’s director to return Rs 1.27 crore.

He has accused his company director, her husband Ankush Bassi and their relative Mohan Moye of fraud. Moye lives in California, US.

According to Yogesh Kumar, when he pressed for the money, he began receiving death threats from foreign numbers.

On April 28, he allegedly received a message from a foreign number, telling him to forget about the money and remain silent, or else the consequences would be dire.

On May 10, he was again allegedly threatened. He claimed that gunshots were fired outside his house. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera.

Based on Yogesh Kumar’s complaint, the Kharar Sadar police have registered a case under Sections 125, 3(5) of the BNS and provisions of the the Arms Act. Police are now searching for the unknown attackers based on CCTV footage and call details.
