The decomposed body of an unidentified woman was found in the forest area of Sector 83 on Saturday morning. Police teams, along with Crime Branch units, are conducting an intensive investigation to identify the body.
According to the police, a team from the Sector 93 police chowki received information on Friday at around 3 pm regarding the body of a woman lying in the forest area of Sector-83. The police reached the spot and recovered the decomposed body.
Karan Goyal, DCP (West), along with Crime Branch and forensic personnel, inspected the scene and collected evidence. “In order to establish the identity of the deceased woman, the police questioned residents from surrounding areas. Advertisements have also been issued and information has been shared through ZIPNET and other channels. Details of the deceased have additionally been circulated to police units in neighbouring districts for identification purposes. No definite or conclusive evidence regarding the cause of death could be ascertained from the condition of the body or the scene,” said a spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
“The police have carried out the necessary legal formalities and sent the body to the mortuary for postmortem examination. Further clarity regarding the cause of death is expected after the receipt of the postmortem and forensic examination reports,” he added.
The spokesperson said that various teams of the Gurugram Police were actively working to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the cause of her death.” The Gurugram police appeals to the public to share any information regarding the deceased woman or details about any missing woman that matches the description with the police at the earliest,” he added.
