In view of the upcoming Eid-al-Adha (Bakrid) festival, which will be observed on May 28 and continue for three days, the Gurugram police have made extensive security arrangements across the district to ensure peace, safety and communal harmony.

Sandeep Kumar, DCP (East) instructed all station house officers, police post in-charges and police personnel to maintain special vigilance, effective patrolling and strict monitoring in their respective areas.

“Adequate police deployment has been made at major mosques, Eidgah and other crowded locations. Additionally, extra police force has been deployed in sensitive areas to ensure continuous surveillance. Active monitoring is also being carried out on social media platforms, WhatsApp groups and other digital mediums. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone posting or sharing provocative, rumor-based or communally sensitive content,” added DCP Kumar.

He added that all station and police post in-charges have been instructed to conduct continuous patrolling in their jurisdictions and take prompt action against any suspicious activity. The Gurugram police is also maintaining continuous coordination with representatives of religious and social organisations to ensure the festival is conducted in a peaceful and harmonious environment.
