The JDX Presto concept store is actually the result of a collaboration between PUC, Smuzcity, and Jingdong China. The aim of this new concept store is to promote a cashless retail scene in Malaysia.
JDX Presto just had their grand opening in Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur on the 12th of December. The store takes up an impressive 50,000 square feet of retail space in the mall. So what can this new concept store offer you that is different?
Firstly, the 50,000 square feet of space is not just empty and bare. Here you will find a huge variety of products all in one space. They have electrical items, gadgets, health, beauty, fashion, home, and living products. On top of that, you will also find food and beverages here.
Next, their biggest attraction is obviously that you don’t need to bring cash around with you. All you need now is your phone to shop. Items in the store have a QR code next to it that you scan with your phone. Scanned items will then be added into your shopping cart. By the end of your shopping spree you can go through it again and choose what you really want to buy.
But how do you pay? For this you will need to download and set up their own e-wallet, PrestoPay. Once you have finalised your shopping cart, simply finish you purchase by paying via the e-wallet.
What’s the best part? You have two options for getting your items. The first one is through picking up the items from the store itself. However, what if you want to continue your shopping without carrying your big bags?
