Former PSG goalkeeper coach Nicolas Dehon admits he encouraged Alphonse Areola to leave for Real Madrid.
Dehon says Areola didn't believe he had the confidence of management at PSG.
He told the Courrier Picard: "Areola? I told him it would be hard for him because they would not trust him.
"And they took (Keylor) Navas as number one, winner of three leagues of champions, and (Sergio) Rico in as No2. But I think he will eventually succeed."
On-loan for the season in Madrid, Areola made his debut last night for the 2-0 defeat of Osasuna.
