David O'Leary is wanted back at Arsenal, it has been revealed.

The Daily Mail says chairman Sir Chips Keswick facing resistance in his bid to induct the former captain onto the club's board as a football consultant.

Keswick and Lord Harris of Peckham - a board member since 2005 - are among those who want O'Leary to join the upper echelons of the club in an official capacity, advising them on football matters.

However, head of football Raul Sanllehi is against the move.

Sanllehi appointed ex-Gunners midfielder Edu as the club's first technical director in the summer and it is thought there are reservations about O'Leary joining in another newly-created football position.
