
Kota Kinabalu: A man was jailed five years and ordered to get a stroke of the cane for taking syabu repeatedly.
Safizan Sanueh, who was arrested on Oct 27, 2022 after his urine was tested positive at the Beaufort police station, pleaded guilty.
Safizan has several conviction records for taking drugs.
The offence under Section 39C (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 provides for a jail term of between five and seven years, and whipping, on conviction.

After completing his jail sentence, Safizan was ordered placed under police supervision for two years.
Meanwhile, a man claimed trial to entering the State illegally.
Basil Maliki made the plea and informed the court that he has document.
The court set May 23 for case management and ordered Basil to be remanded further pending the date.
