PETALING JAYA: A walking stick belonging to PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang was auctioned for RM16,500 at the PAS Melaka State Charity Dinner held at a hotel in Ayer Keroh last night.

According to a report by Kosmo, the walking stick was successfully bid for by Datuk Muhamad Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin, who attended the event, while bids were also placed through the PAS Melaka Facebook livestream.

The auction was held as part of efforts to raise funds for the party.

Hadi personally handed the walking stick to Muhamad Muqharabbin, who joined PAS in June.

Muhamad Muqharabbin, better known as Qobin, was previously an UMNO Youth executive council member before leaving the party in 2023 and subsequently joining Bersatu.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the upcoming Melaka state election, Hadi said PAS had begun preparations, including discussions on cooperation between Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN).

He said the discussions began about three days ago at the central leadership level and would continue at subsequent levels.

“Preparations at the party level have already begun and are ongoing. Negotiations with the parties we intend to cooperate with have started.

“As for the election, we do not know when it will be held yet. But we have already begun discussions on cooperation,” he told reporters after the event.
