Hadi stable, moved to normal ward: report

KOTA BARU – PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s condition has stabilised and he has been moved to a normal ward, said Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah.

Sinar Harian reported him as saying that Hadi had been moved out of the coronary care unit of a hospital as of today.

“His condition is improving and he has been moved to a normal ward,” the Malay news portal quoted the PAS vice-president saying.

Amar added that Hadi is still receiving treatment and needs to be under observation.

Hadi is also not allowed any visitors at the moment.

Hadi’s son Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi yesterday asked the public to pray for his father, whose health had deteriorated before Hari Raya Aidiladha on Thursday.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim ticked off a social media user over a disrespectful tweet regarding Hadi’s health, and urged the individual to apologise for his post.

Hadi, who is Marang MP, is often criticised for “race-baiting” and his “extreme” rhetoric on religion and politics.

But one of his harshest critics, DAP veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang, today expressed support for Anwar in asking the social media user to apologise for his post.

“In my close to six decades in Malaysian politics, I have never harboured the hope that my political opponents would die,” Lim said today, while wishing Hadi a swift recovery. – The Vibes, July 2, 2023
