KOTA KINABALU: Caretaker Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor (pic) has dismissed claims that Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will face a “free-for-all all” contest in the upcoming 17th Sabah Election.

He said GRS remains united and continues to cooperate closely with Pakatan Harapan (PH) as preparations for the polls progress.

“I don’t think so. We are still in cooperation with PH,” Hajiji told reporters after presenting appointment letters to 42 young Sabahans under the SMJ Fellowship 4.0 programme at Menara Kinabalu.

He acknowledged that minor overlaps between contesting parties may occur but said such situations are normal and will not weaken the coalition’s position.

Hajiji also urged party members to stay focused and refrain from lobbying for seats, adding that the candidate list has been finalised and will be announced soon.
