Kota Kinabalu: Sabah BN Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin accised his GRS counterpart Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor of “taking my people.”
He was referring to the 44 assembly members Hajiji said support his Chief Ministership. The Sabah Umno chief also claimed that the Sabah Government no longer stood after BN withdrew its support on Jan 6. Asked about the status of his own position as Deputy Chief Minister, he said: “I don’t know.”
“We are waiting for the Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) who will come tomorrow (to Sabah) to meet us (BN), Parti Warisan and GRS, then we will discuss it,” he said.
On his meeting with BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in Kuala Lumpur, he said they discussed the roadmap for Sabah BN and the current political situation in the State. Bung claimed there was no government now.
“There is no government. The (then) government was formed together (between Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-Barisan Nasional after the State election in 2020).
“When we (BN/Umno) pulled out, it means there is no chief minister,” he said, adding it was unlikely there would be a swearing-in ceremony at the palace tomorrow (Monday).
The 79-member State assembly is expecting to have a special sitting on Tuesday over the gas power transfer issue.
