Kota Kinabalu: City police are looking for a man who, a TikTok clip shows, brandished a handcuff to a group of kids while onboard a bus here in a suspected case of intimidation and illegal possession of police equipment.
The 24-second video was uploaded on TikTok by @Penjahat96 on Sunday.
City police Chief ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah, in a statement, said possession of police gear and displaying them in such a manner could cause public anxiety.
“Police would like to remind the public that possession of police items, even non-weapons, in this case, a handcuff, is a crime.
“Investigations continue to identify the suspect and the Tik Tok account’s owner,” he said, adding anyone with information can reach out to them at 088-529222.
