Hannah Yeoh confirms two police reports filed against false claims of leasehold to freehold change in Taman Segar, Cheras.

PUTRAJAYA: Two police reports have been lodged against allegations that houses in Taman Segar, Cheras had been changed from leasehold to freehold, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh (pic) said.

She described the allegations, which also claimed that an announcement was made about the matter at a media conference in Taman Segar regarding the gazettement of a field for public use, as slander because such an announcement was never made.

“I am not involved at all in the land committee responsible for changing leasehold status to freehold. So, this is clearly slander.

“Police reports have been lodged, two police reports. We lodged one last night, and another one this morning,” she told a press conference here today.

She also pointed out that everyone present during the press conference in Taman Segar could testify that the issue of changing land status was never raised.

In addition, she noted that Facebook live recordings, media statements, and news reports related to the press conference in Taman Segar clearly showed that the matter had never been announced.

“I urge the police to investigate, and I am also considering legal action over this slander because they continue to play up racial issues, and this is a lie,” she said.

Hannah was responding to a statement made by Tamadun Alam Melayu Academy researcher Zaharah Sulaiman, who questioned how Hannah had allegedly managed to change the housing status in Taman Segar, Cheras from leasehold to freehold within a short period.
