Malaysia’s Harimau Malaya will face hosts Indonesia, India, and Singapore in Group A of the new FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026.
THE national football squad, Harimau Malaya, has been placed in Group A Division 1 with hosts Indonesia for the first FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, which will run from Sept 24 to Oct 3.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), in a statement today, confirmed that Malaysia will also meet India and Singapore in the group stage.
“Further details regarding the competition format and match dates will be announced once confirmed,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, Group B in Division 1 includes Vietnam, Pakistan, Thailand and the Philippines.
The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 is a new tournament officially sanctioned by FIFA, aimed at raising the profile and commercial value of regional football.
Each team will play two to four matches, with the Division 1 champions set to earn US$1 million (RM4.09 million).
