Harley-Davidson has officially unveiled the all-new Sprint 440, an approachable, mid-displacement roadster engineered to lower the barrier of entry into the legendary American marque.
Making its public premiere at the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan (November 5–8), the Sprint 440 is the fruit of Harley-Davidson’s joint design and engineering collaboration with Indian two-wheeler giant Hero MotoCorp.

For the Malaysian market, the arrival timeline is officially locked in: the Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 will hit local showrooms in March 2027, with final vehicle assembly handled at Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations.
Cruiser Heritage in an Accessible Package
Rather than chasing pure displacement, the Sprint 440 adopts a slender cruiser stance engineered for urban usability and confidence-inspiring ergonomics.
Penned under the direction of Harley-Davidson Head of Design Bjorn Shuster, the Sprint 440 features a suspended LED headlamp with an illuminated Bar & Shield logo at its center, a teardrop fuel tank, a bobbed rear fender, and a classic fastback saddle. The machine rolls on newly designed 10-spoke black cast aluminum wheels with machined highlights, sized 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear.

Body colour choices include:
- Dark Billiard Gray (Base)
- Vivid Black
- Teal Thunder
All liveries sport a signature orange slash tank graphic over a warped checkered motif, complemented by a playful “Harley Hare” mascot badge on the side panels symbolizing agility and easy fun.
Built for Rider Confidence: 671 mm Seat and 187 kg Wet Mass
Accessibility is the central design brief of the Sprint 440. The chassis features a laden seat height of just 26.4 inches (671 mm) (unladen 683 mm), paired with a narrow waist and a tapered seat profile that enables shorter or novice riders to plant both feet flat on the pavement at a stop.

With a ready-to-ride curb weight of just 187 kg (412 lbs), the motorcycle handles with genuine nimbleness. The assist-and-slipper clutch reduces lever pull effort significantly, relieving hand fatigue in stop-and-go commuter traffic while preventing rear-wheel chatter during aggressive downshifts.
Spirited 440cc Single: Authentic Low-End Rumble
Under the tank sits a modern, air/oil-cooled 440cc single-cylinder engine designed for uncomplicated ownership and reliable low-rev grunt:
- Engine Configuration: Single overhead camshaft (SOHC), two valves, electronic sequential port fuel injection (EFI), and a gear-driven counter-balancer to tame primary vibrations.
- Performance: Generates 27 hp (20 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm (28 lb-ft) of torque at 4,000 rpm. The under-square, long-stroke geometry (79.6 mm bore x 88.4 mm stroke) produces immediate pickup off idle, paired with a custom-tuned single muffler delivering an authentic, deep exhaust note.
- Efficiency: Paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring tall overdrive fifth and sixth gears, the engine delivers claimed combined fuel economy of 3.1 L/100 km (up to 80 mpg / 34 km/L) from its 9.0-litre sculpted fuel tank.

Chassis Hardware, Electronics, and Genuine Accessories
Despite its accessible price target, the chassis setup boasts premium cycle parts:
- Suspension: Up front, 43 mm dual-cartridge inverted forks provide 130 mm of travel, matched out back by monotube piggyback coil-over shocks featuring 7-step mechanical preload adjustability and 76 mm of vertical wheel travel.
- Braking: Features a large 320 mm front rotor clamped by a two-piston caliper and a 240 mm rear rotor with a single-piston caliper, governed by standard dual-channel ABS.
- Cockpit Tech: Information is managed via a classic 3.5-inch circular color TFT display perched above the handlebars, showing speed, engine revs, gear indicator, fuel level, and trip metrics. A convenient 5-volt USB-C port is integrated directly above the headlamp.
