Kota Kinabalu: Former Chief Minister Tan Sri Harris Mohd Salleh said he feels a great burden has been lifted from his shoulders following Wednesday’s High Court decision compelling the Federal Government to make public the Malaysian findings into the Nomad air crash that claimed the lives of 11 people, including newly-elected CM Tun Fuad Mohd Stephens 47 years ago.
He said ever since the June 6, 1976 tragedy he had been forced to put up with insinuations on every anniversary that he may have had something to do with the Double Six tragedy, as it came to be called, just because he succeeded Stephens as CM on the orders of then Prime Minister Tun Hussein Onn that same evening.
“I am very happy that my last resort to take the matter to court through a judicial review to clear my name finally met with success.
