Meghan Markle is reportedly in talks to return to acting when she returns to the UK with Prince Harry.
Sky News and the BBC report that the duchess has held early discussions to join The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie’s Netflix crime comedy series, which is a spin-off of his 2019 film of the same name.
“Talks about having a role in the third season of the series are in early stages but are ongoing”, Sky reports. Meghan rose to fame in legal drama Suits but her acting career has been on pause since she married Harry.
Meanwhile, Harry and six other prominent public figures have been ordered to pay £9.5 million in an initial payment to the publisher of the Daily Mail after accusing them of unlawful information gathering.
It was revealed on Wednesday that Prince Harry and Meghan were returning to the UK after six years across the pond to make their home in a non-royal residence outside London.
King Charles and Prince William are understood to be holding a summit at Balmoral to discuss their return, according to the Mail.

Speculation Meghan may return to her former career as an actress followed the news that she and the Duke of Sussex will move back to the UK with their young children later this month.
Harry and Meghan are to live in a non-royal residence outside of London, having already enrolled Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in British schools, it was disclosed on Wednesday.
Before her relationship with Harry, the 45-year-old rose to fame as Rachel Zane in the US legal drama Suits and appeared in films such as Horrible Bosses, A Lot Like Love and Random Encounters.
Deadline first reported Meghan is in the early stages of discussions for her first significant acting role since her marriage to Harry.
It is believed that Meghan may be joining award-winning director Ritchie for a potential role in hit Netflix series The Gentlemen, which stars Theo James and Kaya Scodelario.
The show follows Duke Eddie Horniman as he unexpectedly inherits his late father’s country estate – which is home to an underground cannabis empire.
It is a spin-off from Ritchie’s blockbuster of the same name, which tells the story of an American drug lord looking to sell his cannabis empire in England.
The action-comedy show, which premiered in 2024, is expected to release its second season later this year.
Meghan is reportedly in talks for a role in a possible third season, though the series has yet to be renewed according to Deadline.
The first series of The Gentlemen was primarily filmed at Badminton House in South Gloucestershire, 10 miles from the King’s Highgrove home and near the Cotswolds, which is favoured by celebrities.
The duchess recently returned to acting for the first time in nearly a decade with a cameo as herself in upcoming comedy Close Personal Friends, which stars Lily Collins and Brie Larson.
A leading talent manager told the Press Association that directors and producers will “absolutely want to meet” Meghan if she returns to acting, saying he had “no doubt there would be interest in her”.
Professor Jonathan Shalit, chairman of InterTalent Rights Group, added: “If Meghan decided tomorrow that she seriously wanted to act again, directors and producers would absolutely want to meet her and audition her.
“Would she automatically be handed every role she wanted? Of course not. Nobody is. But would doors open? Absolutely.”

More people oppose Sussexes' return than support it
Thursday 20 August 2026 23:00 , Jane DaltonA new YouGov poll, carried out the day after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s surprise U-turn was revealed, showed 33 per cent of people believed Harry and Meghan should not move back to the UK, while 45 per cent did not know.
Less than a quarter (21 per cent) were in favour of the Sussexes relocating to the UK from the US.
The poll surveyed 5,810 adults.

Thursday 20 August 2026 19:00 , Bryony GoochThe Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s return to the UK could backfire if they fail to come up with a different script as to how they conduct their lives, a PR expert has warned.
Mark Borkowski branded Harry and Meghan’s bombshell news “extraordinary”, and suggested the royal family will not want them “back in the camp”.
He also said the U-turn raised a raft of questions as to how the couple would pay for their lifestyle, how their security will operate and be funded, and what Meghan will do in the UK.
The public relations and crisis expert said: “If we’re going to see the typical Harry and Meghan three-ring circus, then we know what happens when that is played out.
“That leads to massive disruption, and ultimately if they’re going to use the same tools in the same way – they’ve got to come up with a different play and a different script – that’s just repeating the sins of the past.”
He added: “If they’re bringing that whole spin machine with them, then it is going to backfire.”
