Harry and Meghan’s UK return a ‘great endorsement’ of education system, says Powell

Prince Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK has been described as a “great endorsement” of the UK’s education system by education secretary Lucy Powell.

On Wednesday (19 August), it was reported that the couple are planning to relocate their family back to the UK, six years after they relocated to the US.

The couple are understood to have already enrolled their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, in school.

Appearing on BBC Breakfast on Thursday (20 August), called their return a “great endorsement” of the UK’s education system.

“I’m pleased to see that they are coming back to this country and choosing to live here. It’s a great endorsement of our education system; we have great schools, we have a great education system here.”

She added that it would be highly unlikely that they will be attending a local state school.
