Harry Potter actor welcomes baby boy and shares meaning behind his name

Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films, has welcomed a baby boy with her husband Andrew Lococo.

The newborn is the pair’s second son.

The 35-year-old shared the news with her 3.7 million Instagram followers on Saturday.

One photo showed the baby boy asleep and wrapped in blankets, wearing a striped onesie.

Another image showed Wright lying in bed with the baby on her chest.

Another snap captured her husband and their eldest son, Elio, walking along a boardwalk, pushing the family's newest arrival in a pram.

A fourth showed Elio leaning into the pram to give his baby brother a kiss.

“Say hello to our son Aster Sky Wright Lococo born at home on the 28th September. Named after the star-shaped flower,” Wright wrote in the caption.

“Our little star has been showered in love by his big brother Elio. Thank you universe for my loving bundle of boys!”

Well-wishers responded to the announcement with a flood of congratulatory messages.

Wright was nine when she made her professional acting debut in Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, and she stayed with the franchise through all eight of its films.

Following her role as Harry Potter's love interest, she moved into small and independent film projects and built a stage career, with credits including Peter Ustinov's The Moment Of Truth.

She founded the independent production company BonBonLumiere and works as an environmental activist, collaborating with charities including Greenpeace and Rainforest Alliance.

Wright and Lococo married in California two years after she first revealed their relationship on social media in September 2020.

Their first child, Elio Ocean Wright Lococo, was born in 2023.

Before that relationship, Wright was engaged for a year to her Harry Potter co-star Jamie Campbell Bower, who played a young Gellert Grindelwald, until 2012.
