To spread the message of conserving energy and saving fuel, Mahendragarh Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anupama Anjali toured Narnaul town, along with administrative officials, in an e-rickshaw, leaving the convoy of government vehicles.

The team first inspected the local bus stand and then proceeded to the Panchayat Bhawan, where the DC reviewed development works and departmental operations.

While inspecting the bus stand, the DC urged the residents to avoid unnecessary use of auto-vehicles and adopt bicycles and other eco-friendly vehicles in their daily routine in the national interest.

Anupama Anjali also inspected the facilities at the bus stand and interacted with passengers, listening to their concerns. She maintained that a complaint and suggestion box be installed on the bus stand premises so that the concerns of the residents can be addressed.

The DC also inspected the Panchayat Bhawan office and issued the necessary instructions to the officials concerned.

Citing the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the DC directed the heads of all departments to motivate their subordinate staff to adopt practical methods of saving fuel in their day-to-day work.

She advised that the officers and employees should use public transportation services instead of their personal vehicles whenever possible.

“The officials can also share vehicles (car-pooling) to reduce traffic congestion and fuel wastage," she stated.

The DC emphasised the importance of adopting the habit of walking or using bicycles for short distances, both for health and the environment.

Narnaul SDM Anirudh Yadav, Zila Parishad CEO Nirmal Nagar, RTA Secretary Manoj Kumar, Roadways GM Devdutt, DDPO Pramod Kumar and other officers were also present.

Meanwhile, Nangal Chaudhary SDM Uday Singh also commuted to his office by an e-rickshaw like common residents. The SDM also inspected the ongoing municipal construction works by e-rickshaw.

He also appealed to the officials and people in general to avoid using auto-vehicles to visit the local markets or other destinations located nearby.

“Instead of private vehicles, we should use public transport or bicycles as much as possible," he maintained.

Calling for energy conservation and fuel savings, he said protecting the environment and conserving energy are not the responsibilities of only the government, but a collective duty of all citizens.
