The Haryana Government has issued a revised notification changing the date of the gazetted holiday declared on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid). As per the notification issued by Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, May 28 will now be observed as a gazetted holiday across all government departments, boards, corporations, educational institutions and other establishments under the Haryana Government.

Earlier, the holiday had been notified for Wednesday, May 27. However, through the revised notification, the date has now been changed in view of the observance of the Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) festival.

The government has further stated that the gazetted holiday on May 28 will also be observed under the provisions of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, making it applicable for institutions covered under the Act as well.
