The body of a woman who died while delivering a child at the Civil Hospital was damaged by rats in the mortuary of the hospital in Hisar town. The family members spotted marks on her body.

The district spokesperson informed that the inquiry will establish the cause of the incident and will identify the role of responsible officials and employees. “Necessary steps will also be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future,” the spokesperson said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Shalini Chetal has been appointed as the investigating officer to probe the matter. The ADC has been directed to conduct a detailed investigation and submit a factual report along with findings and recommendations within 48 hours.

The incident happened when the deceased woman, Komal, was admitted to a government hospital in Hansi. Later, she was referred to the Civil Hospital in Hisar.
