In a major public convenience initiative aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and providing affordable public transport, Haryana Roadways, Rohtak, will start a direct daily bus service between Rohtak and Shimla from Tuesday.
The move is being considered as a significant public-friendly step that would benefit passengers from Rohtak and surrounding areas by offering direct connectivity to the Himachal Pradesh capital.
According to the schedule, the Haryana Roadways bus would run daily from Rohtak to Shimla via Chandigarh and Kalka. The bus would depart from Rohtak Bus Stand at 10:05 am every day, while the return service from Shimla would leave at 7 am the next morning.
The route will cover around 373 kilometres and the fare has been fixed at Rs 581 per passenger.
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said the launch of the service reflected the continued efforts to improve public transport infrastructure and expand citizen-centric mobility options.
“This direct bus service to Shimla will offer substantial convenience to the public, especially tourists, students, employees and regular travellers who frequently commute on this route. Strengthening affordable and reliable public transport remains a priority,” said the DC.
Gupta maintained that Haryana Roadways would continue to introduce similar initiatives to improve connectivity and public transport services.
The new bus service is expected to particularly benefit residents of Rohtak and nearby districts seeking a direct and economical transport option to Shimla.
