The PGT examination under the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) Level-3 conducted on July 4 has come under a cloud of suspicion as allegations of seal-tampering, missing questions and multiple typographical errors have surfaced.
When candidates raised concerns, they were reportedly told that the papers had been received from the Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) in the same condition.
Meanwhile, HBSE chairman Shankar Lal Dhopra said that the examination was conducted at 383 centres across the state in a fair and transparent manner.
Denying the possibility of the question paper getting “leaked”, he said the whole process of question papers exchanging hands, getting sealed, transportation till it reached the examination centres was video-graphed and recorded at each and every stage.
“There was no scope left for error at any stage. It is absolutely impossible that question papers could have been leaked,” he said.
When asked about the errors and irregularities in the question papers, he assured that no injustice would be done to any candidate.
“I accept that there could be small mistakes, grammatical errors or typo errors, but those will be compensated at the time of evaluation. As is the practice, open objections would be invited where the candidate could point out the errors. Those will be compensated. Rest assured, we are committed to doing justice to the candidates,” he said.
On the other hand, reports surfaced that in Rewari and Kaithal, candidates allegedly found that the serial numbers on question papers and OMR sheets did not match. Similar complaints were reportedly received from Dadri and several other centres.
