Kota Kinabalu: Sabah West Coast Wise Consumers Association President David Chan wants the authorities, especially the Road Transport Department, to tighten enforcement on public transport operators during the festive season.
“Public transport operators, especially long-distance passenger buses, must have two drivers to ensure everyone reaches their destinations safely,” he said on Sunday.
He said many people would use public transport to return to their hometown for the Aidilfitri holiday.
“This is all the more reason why safety should be prioritised,” he said adding that ensuring the vehicles are safe for travel should also be considered.
