Kai Havertz admits the fee Chelsea paid for him was intimidating.
The Germany international is in his third season with the Blues, having joined for 80m from Bayer Leverkusen.
Havertz told the Guardian: "I don't understand how they can be paid so much money for a player, but in football that's normal.
"This brings a lot of pressure; people thought I was Messi, I was only 20-21.
"They just see the price your club paid and you have to play great right from the start. Day one. You finally feel that pressure."
