Haze: Four areas in Sarawak, capital record unhealthy API readings

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 — Three areas in Sarawak and one in Kuala Lumpur recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in the unhealthy range as of 7.30am today.

Based on data from the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), Samarahan recorded the highest API reading in Sarawak at 164, followed by the Serian District Police Headquarters (162) and Sri Aman (155).

Meanwhile, Cheras in Kuala Lumpur recorded an API reading of 129.

A total of 61 monitoring stations recorded moderate readings, while two stations recorded good readings.

No stations recorded readings in the very unhealthy or hazardous categories.

Meanwhile, API data for Politeknik Kota Kinabalu, Sabah was unavailable.

API readings are issued hourly based on data from 68 air quality monitoring stations nationwide.

The public can obtain the latest air quality information through the Department of Environment’s official channels via eqms.doe.gov.my or the MyJAS EQMS app on Google Play and the App Store.
