Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda on Tuesday described the High Court’s decision to cancel the recruitment of English assistant professors as a victory for the struggle of Haryana’s youth.
Hooda claimed that these are the same candidates who were insulted by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) Chairman, who called them incompetent.
“Today’s court decision has made it clear that while Haryana’s youth are capable, the system that recruits them is incompetent. The reality is that the HPSC Chairman is unworthy of holding this position,” said Hooda
He said the previous BJP government cancelled the PTI recruitment out of political vendetta.
“Not a single recruitment was cancelled during the Congress government. However, under the BJP rule, one after another, cases of paper leaks, exam cancellations, court cancellations of recruitments, and bribery have come to light,” he added.
He said even those classes that should have benefited from recruitment reservations were cheated through the back door.
Citing this example, Hooda explained that for 613 assistant professor (English) positions, 151 candidates were selected, while the remaining positions remained vacant.
In a grave injustice to the DSC category, only one of the 60 reserved seats was selected, and the remaining seats were left vacant under the guise of several conditions.
He said that the court’s decision clearly shows that some provisions of the government’s November 11, 2022, guidelines violate clauses 4, 5, and 6 of the UGC Guidelines 2018, and therefore, the advertisement and recruitment process issued based on these provisions are also against the established system.
“The High Court’s decision makes it clear that the BJP government deliberately enacted such rules to ensure that most of the jobs went to outsiders rather than Haryana youth,” he said.
Hooda had staged a massive protest and courted arrest in Panchkula on February 17th against this recruitment. He said that an investigation should be conducted into why papers are being leaked daily in Haryana and why outsiders are being recruited instead of Haryana residents.
“It is also a matter of investigation why the HPSC Chairman harbors animosity towards Haryana’s unemployed youth,” he added.
Expressing surprise at the selection of only 19 out of 67 candidates for the post of assistant professor in Hindi, while the remaining 41 were outsiders, and only 3 out of 400 candidates for the 85 posts of assistant professor in Psychology, Hooda said the only topic on the lips of Haryana youth today is that the state has the highest number of candidates in the UPSC, while outsiders have dominated the HPSC, leaving many posts vacant.
