Everyone should learn at least 1 musical instrument in their lifetime. Playing music stimulates the brain, aiding memory retention and helping you learn new skills. And what better time to start than at a young age?
In a recent video shared by @violinyixuan, she captures a heartwarming moment of her son and her niece celebrating their grandpa’s birthday at their home in Singapore.
He’s been playing the violin since he was 2 years old
In the video, a girl and a boy are seen standing in front of their grandpa’s lit birthday cake, singing “Happy Birthday” to him. The girl sings while the boy plays the violin.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Yi Xuan (the mother) revealed how her 3-year-old son, Tomi, has been playing the violin since the age of 2 years old.
“He can play all the songs in Suzuki Book 1 and is almost finished with Suzuki Book 2. So, I’d say he can play around 20 songs.”
A star is born!
Yi Xuan went on to explain that she has been a professional violinist for over 20 years and has been teaching Tomi to play the violin, following in her footsteps. She revealed that he practices the violin daily for 30 minutes to an hour.
She also mentioned that he often plays “Happy Birthday” for every family member on their birthdays. In fact, a previous video of him playing for his uncle’s birthday went viral.
“My advice for anyone wanting to learn the violin is that any age can be a good time to start learning a musical instrument. However, for very young children, it’s best if parents learn alongside them.”
Tomi’s violin performance has caught the attention of netizens, prompting them to flood the comment section with their reactions!
