We can gain knowledge not just from websites, but from real people who share their experiences and wisdom on forums, chatrooms and other online communities.
Recently, a photo of a woman sharing about her fiancé’s lack of personal hygiene, and how she is bothered by it captured the attention of netizens on Facebook.
She first shared about his multiple disgusting habits and the things she has done to get him to change. But because all of her efforts has proved futile, she wrote the post to ask for other people’s advice on what else she can do.
“I’m getting married to my fiancé next year. But there’s one thing I don’t like about him. He’s a dirty person,” she shared.
She then listed all the things about her fiancé which was lacking hygiene: teeth with heavy plaque, infrequent showers, strewn pants, scalp with dandruff, wearing the same shirt two days in a row and an unshaved genital area.
“The worst part is that we engage in sexual activities. I feel disgusted when I have to kiss him because when he smiles, his plaque-lined teeth are on full display,” she said.
She also shared that she had previously asked him to shower before sleeping together.
“He didn’t shower, but decided to brush his teeth. I was already so grateful for that.”
Finally, she shared that she even bought her fiancé a bottle of perfume hoping that he would change, but to no avail.
“How do I talk some sense into him? He’s so nasty,” she pleaded with citizens of the net.
Netizens were amused
In the comments, netizens have mixed reactions but are mostly amused by the post.
Some made jokes such as, “It’s easy. Just take a thread and clean his teeth, then ask him to smell the thread.”
Another commented, “Don’t break off the engagement. Just stay with the man; other men may not want you. Who knows? You might have his pubic hair stuck in your teeth.”
Others either criticised her for having premarital sex or advised her to have a proper conversation with her fiancé about the issue.
“She’s proud even though she’s sinning.”
“These things shouldn’t be discussed in public… If saying it indirectly isn’t working, just be straightforward. You reprimanding him is for his own good,” commented a user,
We hope that the woman’s fiancé will stop doing her dirty! But if not, ladies, know that you can’t change him if he doesn’t want to change!
