
Members of various social, religious, educational and constitutional bodies vowed to associate with a campaign launched by the District Health Department to spread awareness about causes and consequences of ignoring hand hygiene in life.
An oath was taken in response to a call given by the district health authorities in this regard on the occasion of World Hand Hygiene Day on Tuesday.
SMO, Civil Hospital, Ahmedgarh, Jyoti Kapoor Hind, said office-bearers and activists of various international organisations, social organisations, educational institutes, healthcare personnel and religious organisations had announced to transform World Hand Hygiene Day 2026 theme — Action saves lives — into reality by organising seminars, workshops and demonstrations on their premises.
“After getting information about the campaign launched by the District Health Department, activists of several outfits have come forward to make the theme reach all constituents of educational, commercial , industrial , administrative and religious organisations of their respective areas,” said Dr Jyoti highlighting that the campaign was aimed at enhancing result-oriented activities. Clinical and healthcare centres, educational institutes, public dealing offices and commercial and industrial units were cited among establishments where people interact with masses and take care of others, hence it required intensive training on hand hygiene.
Surinder Pal Sofat, assistant governor of an international service organisation, said volunteershad given tips on hand hygiene to groups of individuals at institutes.
