The Health Department has intensified surveillance to prevent the spread of water-borne diseases in Dhakoli here. As part of the drive, the Block Rapid Response Team visited the affected areas of Dashmesh Enclave and Krishna Enclave and carried out an extensive door-to-door survey.

In Dashmesh Enclave, 120 households were surveyed. Three mild cases of diarrhoea were identified.

The affected families were provided necessary health guidance and counselled regarding the use of oral rehydration solution (ORS), safe drinking water practices, hand hygiene and sanitation.

The health team distributed 50 ORS packets and 250 chlorine tablets among residents. Additionally, four water samples were collected for testing to check water quality.

In Krishna Enclave, 90 households were covered during the survey.

No case of diarrhoea was reported from the locality.

The health team sensitised residents in both localities regarding proper handwashing, safe food handling, consumption of clean drinking water and the importance of maintaining sanitation to prevent the spread of diarrhoeal diseases.

Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said the district administration and the Health Department were closely monitoring the situation and taking all necessary steps to tackle the problem. She appealed to residents to remain vigilant and immediately report any symptoms of diarrhoea.
