THE Pahang State Health Department (JKNP) has seized 126 types of unregistered health products and non-notified cosmetics worth RM1.5 million in a raid on two premises in the city earlier this week.
The operation was conducted on Tuesday by the Pahang Pharmacy Enforcement Branch (CPF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health’s Pharmaceutical Enforcement Division, CPF Terengganu, the Royal Malaysia Police, and based on intelligence provided by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).
"Among the confiscated items were traditional medicines, health supplements for joint inflammation, probiotics, vitamins and a wide range of cosmetics, most of which were marketed online via e-commerce platforms," JKNP said in a statement.
“These unregistered products and non-notified cosmetics raise concerns over their effectiveness, quality, and safety,” the department added.
The enforcement action forms part of the ongoing CPF Pahang campaign to crack down on the distribution of unauthorised health products and raise consumer awareness through the “Tolak Ubat Tidak Sah” (Reject Illegal Medicines) initiative, also known as TOBaTS.
The offences fall under Regulation 7(1)(a) and Regulation 18A(1)(a) of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984 and are punishable under Section 12 of the Sale of Drugs Act 1952.
Upon conviction, individuals may face fines of up to RM25,000 or imprisonment for up to three years, or both. Companies, meanwhile, may be fined up to RM50,000.
JKNP reminded the public to purchase only registered health products bearing a MAL number and a holographic security sticker. Product registration status can be verified via the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency’s website at [www.npra.gov.my](http://www.npra.gov.my). - October 2, 2025
