Healthcare services must reach rural folk: CM

TUARAN: Healthcare services must continue to be made more accessible to rural communities facing constraints in obtaining regular medical check-ups, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

His speech was delivered by Datuk Mohammad Ghazali Hajiji, Political Secretary to the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, at the launch of the Kampung Baru-Baru Health Camp at the community hall here on Sunday.

Hajiji said early medical screenings are crucial because conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes often develop without obvious symptoms in their initial stages.

He commended the commitment of Tuaran Hospital personnel, its Board of Visitors, community leaders, and residents, while expressing hope that similar outreach initiatives will be expanded across the district.

The Chief Minister added that the State Government remains committed to grassroots welfare through the Sabah Maju Jaya roadmap, ensuring equitable infrastructure, social assistance, and economic opportunities across all Sabah villages.
