In the midst of an unimaginable tragedy, the parents of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, the six-year-old autistic boy found dead after a 34-hour search, have come forward to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all involved in the search and rescue (SAR) operation.

Zaim Ikhwan Zahari and Ismanira Abdul Manaf, both 28 years old, shared their sentiments with reporters at the Sungai Buloh Hospital. Their expressions of thanks were directed toward the authorities and the members of the public who dedicated their time and efforts to locate Zayn Rayyan.

Zaim, visibly moved, expressed his gratitude and urged for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his son's disappearance. "I would like to say thank you to all. We would also like to say that we hope the police investigate the case thoroughly," he said, keeping his words brief yet poignant.

The grieving father also mentioned that the post-mortem had commenced around 11:30 am, anticipating it to take approximately four hours. The ordeal faced by Zayn Rayyan's parents is undoubtedly challenging, compounded by the emotional toll of losing a child.

Ismanira, still grappling with overwhelming emotions, expressed her disbelief at the loss of her son. "I still can’t accept this. I still feel that he is with me," she said before breaking into tears. The pain of losing a child, especially under such circumstances, is undoubtedly a profound and lasting one.

The tragic incident unfolded after Zayn Rayyan was reported missing on Tuesday, December 5. The young boy was last seen at Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai. ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin reported that the police received the missing person report at approximately 6:36 pm on the same day.

"The boy was last seen near Block R of the apartment complex along PJU 10/1, Damansara Damai at around 12 pm on Tuesday," ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin stated in a release on Wednesday, December 6. Descriptions mentioned that Zayn Rayyan was wearing a white, collared T-shirt adorned with the SK Damansara Damai 2 emblem, a black track suit, and black shoes.

As the post-mortem unfolds, the grieving family and the community at large grapple with the sorrowful reality of Zayn Rayyan's passing. The parents' expression of gratitude amid their profound grief highlights the strength of the human spirit and the community's collective effort in times of tragedy. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Zayn Rayyan's disappearance and subsequent demise is anticipated to provide some closure to a community deeply affected by this heart-wrenching incident.
