For the past few days, the heat is unbearable. So far, we have not seen any information from the government or its respective ministry on the effect of heat wave/heat stroke. What contingency plan has the Madani government put in place to tackle the current heatwave? The responsible ministry are lying low rather than pouncing into action.
PMX should ignore Mahatir and Hadi Awang as they are not contributing much to the need of the rakyat. Please, Mr PMX focus on the heat wave that is present in this country. Don’t wait for people to die before action is taken.
1. The Ministry of health must take quick action like
- Educate and awareness among the public in all social media as to the do’s and don’ts to minimize the impact during the heat wave and to prevent serious ailment or death because of heat stroke.
- Advice for treatment of patients affected by heat stroke especially the elderly and chronic health conditions during heat wave.
- Find sources for increasing the number of beds medication, and personnel in dealing with heat wave-related incidents and emergency lane to deal with them.
2. How to conserve water during this dry spell and educate the public on the importance which should be under the preview of the Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change. Management of water resources should not be kept till the last moment, till we have to line up for water tanks for supplies. They should also be prepared for haze and action to be taken. Heat warning and alert should be their priority.
Forecasting and monitoring - Cloud seeding operations with the assistance of the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) to ensure adequate water supply at all dam sites.
Has the minister taken any steps so far to protect the citizen, especially the B40 as these are the most vulnerable group?
The education ministry should also be vigilant and put in place the do and don’ts for students during this period. It’s good that they have cancelled outdoor activities and relaxing on the dress code.
