SHAH ALAM, April 11 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds for the whole of Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya until 9 am today.
The agency said on Facebook that bad weather is also predicted for Perlis, Pulau Pinang, Melaka, Labuan and a few locations in Kedah, Perak, Johor, Sarawak dan Sabah.
MetMalaysia said the warning comes amid signs of storms and heavy rains with intensities of up to 20 milimiters per hour for these regions.
The thunderstorm warnings were issued within six-hour timeframes.
The public is advised to check on the weather conditions in their area via MetMalaysia’s website or the myCuaca app.
