MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in KL, Putrajaya and seven states until 6pm today, including Selangor and Perak.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and seven states until 6 pm today.

It said in a statement that the adverse weather is forecast to affect Kuala Muda, Baling, Sik, Yan and Langkawi in Kedah; Timur Laut, Barat Daya, Seberang Perai Utara and Seberang Perai Tengah in Penang; and Kuala Pilah, Seremban, Jempol and Jelebu in Negeri Sembilan.

Similar weather conditions are also forecast in Larut Matang, Selama, Bagan Datuk, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Hilir Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Hulu Perak, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim in Perak; Sepang, Petaling, Hulu Langat, Gombak, Klang and Kuala Langat in Selangor, as well as Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong, Bera, Jerantut and Lipis in Pahang.

In Sabah, the affected areas are the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Keningau, Tambunan, Membakut, Beaufort and Sook), West Coast, Tawau (Kunak and Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Kinabatangan) and Kudat (Kota Marudu).
