SEVERAL areas around the Klang Valley were hit by flash floods after heavy rains continued since noon, causing traffic congestion and disruption to road users in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
Through the Threads application, user @tharsh.h shared the condition of roads in Ampang, which were flooded following heavy rains.
"Is it raining all over Malaysia? Ampang is flooded," he said.
Another user, @imalmast, also uploaded a similar situation in Meru.
"Today is 1 pm in Meru. Luckily, I managed to switch my MyVi to 'jetski' mode," he said jokingly.
Meanwhile, user @shazwawan shared the flood situation in Setia Alam.
"At 1.35 pm, the water level is rising in front of NSK in Setia Alam. Don't make a U-turn because you may get caught in the flood," he said.

A car was also damaged after a tree fell on it on Jalan Gombak near Batu 10, following the heavy rain in the area.
In a post on Threads by @asalgombak, the fallen tree was reported to have blocked traffic in both directions.
"A fallen tree near Batu 10, Jalan Gombak, is blocking traffic in both directions. With the current heavy rain, please plan your journey accordingly," the post read.
Earlier, the Malaysian Meteorological Department issued a thunderstorm warning affecting seven states and the Federal Territories of Putrajaya and Labuan until 1 pm today.
Heavy rain and strong winds are expected to hit Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Sarawak and Sabah. – May 8, 2026
