We all know Malaysians and cheese go together like besties. From cheesy fried rice to cheese-infused water, they’ve done it all.
This time, a food vendor decided to infuse the famous traditional dish, Satay, with a cheesy twist.
Shared by a user, @PerakFood, a clip shows a woman introducing menus in a restaurant located in Ipoh. What caught the netizens’ eyes was the “Satay Cheese Meleleh.”
In the 21-second clip, the woman lifts the satay stick, showing the tantalizing stretch of cheese.
The satay was placed on a plate with cheese on top. Then, the staff torched the cheese before showering it with a sea of cheese sauce.
The cheese satay is also served with peanut sauce, along with diced cucumber and onions.
This video has since garnered over 393.3k views as of the time of writing, along with some comments from netizens who can’t believe what they saw.

Some Malaysians didn’t seem too thrilled with this latest wild food innovation.
“Please, don’t make food that turns into silly dishes like this.”
“Why need to ruin food to this extent?”

A curious netizen who wondered how the Satay and Cheese combo tastes, @PerakFood acclaimed, replying that it actually tasted delicious with a creamy richness, especially when paired with peanut sauce.
