LAHAD DATU: The Lahad Datu Wildlife Department (JHL) confirmed receiving a report on the presence of a herd of elephants, as circulated on social media.

Lahad Datu District Wildlife Officer Hairulnizam Hasnan said the elephants were reported to be in Kampung Makuau.

“Our team has taken action to monitor and drive the elephants back to the Silabukan forest,” he said, adding the elephants were roamed into the village looking for food.
