The CIA team of Fatehabad Police has seized 1.510 kg of heroin worth around Rs 3 crore in the international market and arrested an alleged drug smuggler from Bhuna town on Monday. The accused, identified as Nanha, a resident of Bhuna, was allegedly planning to supply the contraband in Bhuna and nearby areas.
Addressing a press conference, DSP Kulwant Singh and CIA incharge Vedpal said a case had been registered against the accused and his alleged supplier under the NDPS Act.
According to the police, the CIA team received information that Nanha was involved in heroin trafficking and was operating from Rishi Nagar Colony in Bhuna, where he was constructing a new house.
ASI Rajesh Kumar, along with other police personnel, reached the spot and noticed a motorcycle parked outside the under-construction house. Shortly afterwards, Nanha allegedly arrived and attempted to start the bike. Police conducted a search in his presence. During the search, officials recovered a packet containing heroin. The total weight of the seized heroin was found to be 1.510 kg.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly revealed that he had purchased the heroin from Rahul, a resident of Peeragarhi in Delhi, for supply in Bhuna and nearby areas. Police said Nanha already has five criminal cases registered against him, including NDPS cases in Fatehabad and Rohtak districts.
